London bookstore boss Harman (George Brent), largely preoccupied with his ailing wife, has just sent the staff home except for Ruby (Diana Dors) who does after-hours inventory, then we find out her new friend Jeff (Peter Reynolds) is an ex-con, in the Hammer Films British-made Noir Man Bait, 1952.

We've just met both Ruby (Diana Dors) and Jeff (Peter Reynolds), who she catches snatching a book from the London shop where she works, as she's reprimanded by her boss Harman (George Brent), who later confers with Oliver (Raymond Huntley), thickening plot in the British Noir Man Bait, 1952.
