Synopsis

During the fall of Rome the god Mercury transforms citizen Gregorius into a ball of fire. Centuries later Mercury, alarmed by contemporary trends, dispatches the Roman to Hollywood. Horrified by American hedonism, Gregorius is unable to speak. The Roman's silence, however, does not prevent his discovery and exploitation by Goodwyn and Evermore, hosts of the televised "International Culture Hour." Soon the pair has packaged a Roman fad popularized by hippie idol Tomorrow's Leader and cyclist Superdude. The craze culminates in a televised Roman orgy, during which Gregorius is seduced by the Zap Pow girl, star of the show's commercials.
