Synopsis
A conniving New York woman cons her medical-student husband into engineering a lucrative drug deal, then flees with the loot, hiding out in a small town in upstate New York. Devising an insurance scam, she talks a lovestruck claims adjuster into murdering her vengeful spouse.

Due to its cable broadcast over HBO earlier in the year, "The Last Seduction" has been disqualified for Oscar consideration by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. October Films and ITC Entertainment subsequently filed a lawsuit against the Academy on the grounds that its ruling constitutes an "unreasonable restraint of trade and an unfair business practice." On December 23rd, 1994, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert O'Brien dismissed the their bid for a temporary restraining order, allowing the AMPA&S to send out ballots to its members on January 5th, 1995.
