Synopsis

Cowboys Gene, Frog and Steve are driving a herd of cattle across the Canadian border when Steve accidentally stumbles on a convoy of fur thieves. To silence Steve, the smugglers stab him and leave him to die in the woods, but before dying, he manages to scrawl the brand of a nearby guest ranch. When Frog and Gene discover that their friend has been murdered, they follow his clue to the HH ranch, which is owned by Dorothy Hamilton and her partner, Hendricks. Dorothy is unaware that Hendricks is the head of the smugglers, but Gene and Frog are suspicious and, as an excuse to spend some time at the ranch, stampede their cattle into the HH herd. They soon learn that the furs are being smuggled into a storehouse on the ranch and then shipped out of the country. As the smugglers prepare to escort another shipment of pelts, they catch Gene and Frog in the storeroom and, deciding to use Gene as a cover for their illegal activities, hijack him and his wagon. Soon after their departure, Frog escapes from the storeroom and leads a rescue party after Gene and his captors. As the robbers hold up another warehouse of furs, Gene escapes and tries to prevent the robbery, but is shot in the arm. However, he manages to sound the alarm and follow the smugglers by dogsled. As he watches them load the furs into Hendricks' car, Gene causes a daring avalanche, thus trapping the smugglers and exacting justice for the murder of his friend.
