On May 20, 1997, the team leader of a U.S. counter-narcotics mission killed 18-year old Ezequiel Hernandez, Jr. nearby the border town of Redford, Texas, while Ezequiel was tending to his herd of goats. Compelled by the current political situation on the Mexico-U.S. border, the Marines agreed to be interviewed for the first time.
