Synopsis

The government of Lalvadore, a Middle Eastern country, to prevent a Communist coup decides to change its currency and have it printed by a reputable London company. Eric Winlatter, nephew of the firm's owner and deep in gambling debts, is forced to become part of the Communist scheme to substitute counterfeit bills for the new money. His wife, Cherry, discovers a note from Communist agent Peter de Savory and becomes suspicious of Eric's activities. Aided and accompanied by journalist Robert Wade, Cherry learns of the plot and races to the airport where Eric will make the exchange. Although Eric has a last-minute change of heart and tries to prevent the robbery, he is killed in the ensuing fracas. As the Communist scheme is aborted, Wade restrains Cherry from running to her dead husband.
