Information within the dialogue continuity deposited in the NYSA, suggests that O festino o la legge May have been a reissue of a silent film with a number of dialogue scenes and songs added, a practice was also used for a number of Yiddish-language releases of the early 1930s put together in New York. No reviews for this film have been located. Film Daily news items note that an English version was also recorded and that this was the first in a series of Italian films planned by producer and impresario Clemente Giglio. The film marked Italian-American actor Oreste Sandrino's feature film debut.
