Synopsis
Three petty criminals--Griff, Alec and Len--carefully plan the robbery of a bank in a small inland city. In the execution of the crime, they lock the manager, Mr. Spencer, and his secretary, Rose, in an airtight vault. As they escape, they realize that the two people will suffocate unless released in a few hours, thus adding murder to robbery. They agree that Alec should inform the authorities anonymously, but before he can do so, he is killed in an automobile accident. While the police are trying to identify the vault keys found on Alec's body, Griff and Len decide to return to the bank to rescue the two captives. They succeed as the police close in, but Rose is already dead, and they find themselves facing a murder charge.
