Synopsis
Consuelo, the daughter of a retired pirate captain, wants to assume command of her father's ship, the Santa Maria, but the old man offers the position to the winner of a duel. After Consuelo's lover, William, defeats Robert in the contest, Consuelo takes on William herself, and he allows her to win. Later, Robert murders Consuelo's father and frames William as the killer. He is about to be executed for the crime when Spaniards attack the pirates, and William is able to escape in the Santa Maria. Vowing revenge, Consuelo steals a Spanish ship and apprehends William, who proclaims his innocence and promises to capture his rival. Robert, meanwhile, has joined forces with Anna da Cordoba, the wife of Porto Nuevo Governor Inigo, who is eager to find the dead captain's hidden treasure. William tries to apprehend Robert but is ambushed and tortured until Consuelo comes to the rescue and kills Robert in a duel. Anna, backed by many Spaniards, forces Consuelo to hand over the treasure before she and William are set free.
