Jade is an aging baby boomer who lives with her mother and daughter in the same lower middle-class neighborhood where she's lived her whole life. On her 50th birthday, she confesses that she feels she's still waiting for her life to begin, even as she's trying to keep her family together and her company out of bankruptcy.
