Synopsis

After his best friend ruins him financially and steals his wife Virginia, Barry Dale, a Wall Street broker, goes to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge but is stopped by the arrival of Mary Austin, another would-be suicide, who runs away as soon as Barry calls out to her. Homeless and confused, Barry ends up in a Western mining town where he is befriended by an outlaw on the run from the local posse. The outlaw and an itinerant minister are killed by the sheriff, and Barry adopts the identities of both dead men, committing hold-ups one day and christening babies the next. While robbing a stagecoach, he encounters Mary traveling with her father in hopes of escaping the unwanted advances and blackmailing of Jack Rader, a notorious gambler. Taken with Mary's beauty and fighting spirit, Barry spares her from theft and before long, saves her from Rader's threats. Having proved his bravery in the West, Barry returns to New York and reconciles with his wife.
