Synopsis

Ted Scott, a noted scholar and college athlete, is informally engaged to Gloria Brooks, but she is unable to marry him; instead, Gloria consents to make herself the pawn in obtaining her dad's release from a man who has the power to destroy him financially. Both Gloria and Ted are heartbroken; she tries to be a good wife to her neglectful husband, while Ted embarks on a legal career that ultimately makes him district attorney. At a party, Gloria's husband openly encourages other men to flirt with her, and she leaves in shame and disgust; he pursues her home, and while they quarrel he is suddenly shot. All evidence points to Gloria as the murderer. One of the jurors holds out for acquittal and confesses to being the murderer, seeking revenge for the early seduction of his daughter by the villain. Gloria is acquitted and happily reunited with Ted.
