Synopsis
While Mexican Border Patrol trooper Bob Franklin and his dog, Rin Tin Tin, Jr., await the arrival of Bob's sister Barbara, Ed, a fellow trooper, summons Bob to pursue a gang of smugglers. Bob leaves Rinty behind to meet Barbara while he and Ed successfully capture the contraband truck and its driver, Matt Brent. Zorro, the leader, escapes, however. Meanwhile Barbara arrives, and she and Rinty proceed to Bob's cabin where the fugitive Zorro is hiding. Zorro knocks out Rinty and kills Barbara. When Bob returns, he assumes that Rinty abandoned Barbara and drives him away. Bob then leaves the patrol to pursue the criminal on his own. Using the alias Rocky Morgan, Bob infiltrates the gang's headquarters, a resort owned by John Morton, who is held hostage with his daughter Ann by the gang. Rinty, who is still faithful despite Bob's anger, follows him to the hideout and is captured. When Bob's identity is revealed, the smugglers hold him for Zorro's arrival. Rinty manages to free Bob, however, and, after a fight, the troopers arrive on the scene and arrest Zorro. Rinty and Bob are then reunited.
