Synopsis
For the past decade, America has experienced an economic transformation that began with the recession and restructuring of the early 1990s, and led to the unprecedented recovery and stock market boom that defined the end of the century. While this era has been one of prosperity, job growth and opportunity, millions of working Americans have been on an economic roller-coaster. In this documentary, ten years in the making, tells the dramatic story of two blue-collar Milwaukee families. As they struggle to find their place in the new economy, living from paycheck to paycheck through good times and bad, the Neumanns and Stanleys confront choices for themselves and their families that have far-reaching consequences for the American way of life.
