Synopsis
A British series that chronicles the rivalry between Miss Elizabeth Mapp, the reigning queen of Tilling-on-Sea, a small fictional British town, and Mrs. Emmeline Lucas (also known as Lucia), a usurping prima donna who comes to town with her good friend Georgie Pillson and attempts to overturn the established order. Their battles are earnest affairs -- gracefully, tastefully fought -- and give a satiric insight into village life between the wars in all its trivial glory.
