Synopsis
Drama about a family shattered by the death of their son and the journey they must take to heal and find each other again. Neal and Nora Mahler seem to have little in common, but their marriage has endured with the help of their lovable son Simon. Nora is devoted to Simon, while Neal and their daughter Clea have a solid relationship. Nora, Clea and Simon share a love of horses but Neal is uncomfortable around them and worries when they ride. When Neal grounds Simon from horsebackriding until his grades improve, Clea begs Nora to let them ride. Clea and Simon race along the riverbank and Simon's horse slips, killing the boy. Nora is overwhelmed with grief, Neal tries to cope and Clea blames herself for her brother's death. It is too painful to stay at the farm, so the family moves into Nora's mother Maggie's house. When Neal is offered a job in a new town, the family must face up to their past and their future.
