A movie about what happens when the best friend and partner of a dedicated cop is killed by a pair of holdup men during a routine traffic check. The surviving officer can't shake the feeling that he indirectly caused his partner's death. Soon, his marriage and job performance beginto suffer. He starts drinking heavily and finds himself more and more emotionally drawn to his friend's widow.
