Synopsis

Miniseries based on the autobiography of James Van Praagh, which chronicles his stories of contact with the dead. James has been haunted by visitations from the time he was a child and has found them disturbing. Although he is encouraged by his mother, Regina, when she is alive and after she dies, and his good friend, Midge, James struggles with his gift. After many incidents in which his revelations have made him an outcast among his peers, teachers and family, he finally learns to accept and trust his ability and put it too valuable use.

James first met Eddie, a young boy who was accidentally shot, when he revealed himself to James some 30 years earlier, when James was also a child. It is only as an adult, in the midst of a police investigation, that James realizes that he knew Eddie from the past and that the boy had already died at the time of their first encounter. James turns to Detective Karen Condrin for help identifying seven boys who visit him from the other side, all of whom appear to have been murdered. James is horrified when he realizes that they all have something in common: they are connected to Eddie. Karen knows that she needs James' visions to solve the crimes, but he wants to run away from the violent images that plague him.
