Synopsis

Alex has been searching for a way out for several years. He's lived all his life within the confines of the Little Athens section of Queens. The only rebellious thing Alex ever did was to major in ancient history instead of a more practical, money-making career as his father wanted. And now he feels his life closing in on him, as his father, Demo proudly reminds him that the day is fast approaching when he'll be handed the keys to the restaurant for good. Meanwhile, Alex's closest friend Theo is trying to get him involved in some get-rich-quick schemes of his own, But Alex isn't ready to be tied down -- until he meet Theo's Greek cousin, Elena, who has the same interest in ancient history that he does. When his father is threatened by some local card sharks, Alex doesn't hesitate about putting his future one the line for his family.
