Biography

Jennifer Love Hewitt was born on Feb. 21, 1979 in Waco, TX. She made her acting debut at age 11 on the children's television program "Kids Incorporated" (Syndication/The Disney Channel 1984-1994). After her tenure on the show ended, Hewitt recorded her debut album, Love Songs (1992), and appeared in a series of short-lived television projects before landing a costarring role on the drama series "Party of Five" (Fox 1994-2000). In the meantime, she appeared in comedy films like "House Arrest" (1996) and "Trojan War" (1997), and the horror hit "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (1997). After departing "Party of Five," Hewitt headlined the spin-off series "Time of Your Life" (Fox 1999-2000), which only lasted one season. She then went on to appear in comedy films like "The Tuxedo" (2002) and "Garfield" (2004) before landing the lead role in the supernatural drama series "The Ghost Whisperer" (CBS 2005-2010). Next, she developed the comic book Jennifer Love Hewitt's Music Box (2009) and penned the nonfiction book The Day I Shot Cupid (2010) before returning to television with "The Client List" (Lifetime 2012-13) and one season of the long-running crime drama "Criminal Minds" (CBS 2005-). After a brief hiatus from acting, Hewitt was cast in Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's drama series "9-1-1" (Fox 2018-).
