Biography

A handsome American actor of Cuban descent, Marco Sanchez may not be a household name, but he has appeared on an impressive number of television shows, with many recurring roles under his belt. Born and raised in southern California, Sanchez eventually attended UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television, landing his earliest screen parts even before he graduated. His big break arrived in 1993 when he joined the cast of the adventure series "SeaQuest 2032" (NBC, 1993-96), and he later became a regular on the popular action show "Walker, Texas Ranger" (CBS, 1993-2001), as well as its short-lived spin-off "Sons of Thunder" (CBS, 1999). Largely juggling one-off television appearances and TV movies, Sanchez had a 2010 stint on the hit military drama "NCIS" (CBS, 2003- ) and was featured in episodes of "The Client List" (Lifetime, 2012-13), just before the steamy show was cancelled. Sanchez has also appeared in feature films on occasion, but television dramas are clearly his forte.

Native to Los Angeles, Sanchez grew up in Palm Desert but later returned to the city. While studying at UCLA's drama school during the early 1990s, he became one of the founders of the Buffalo Nights Theatre Company. After Sanchez has a brief stint on the primetime soap opera "Knots Landing" (CBS, 1979-1993), his career took off, with the exceedingly good-looking guy become a regular on the ocean-set sci-fi show "SeaQuest 2032," starring Roy Scheider. Before long, he became a fixture on latter episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger," playing Detective Carlos Sandoval, an ally of Chuck Norris' tough title character. Sanchez reprised Sandoval for the spin-off "Sons of Thunder," but the series wasn't picked up for a full season. Guest spots on various major shows followed, and Sanchez snagged a recurring role on "NCIS," also appearing briefly in the J.J. Abrams alien movie "Super 8" (2011). In 2013, he portrayed a lawyer on "The Client List," featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt, and had a minor part in another Abrams film, the blockbuster sequel "Star Trek Into Darkness."
