Biography

As an actor and stunt performer, Canada's Zak Santiago has had a staggering number of television and film roles. His career started in the late 1990s, with small roles on such shows as "Poltergeist: The Legacy" and "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven." After appearing in a number of sci-fi and supernatural series, including James Cameron's "Dark Angel," "Stephen King's Dead Zone," and "Stargate SG-1," Santiago finally started getting noticed. In 2004 he won a Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance by a Male in the miniseries "Human Cargo." He also had significant roles in the shows "The L Word," "Kingdom Hospital," and "Caprica," among others. Santiago's film work, while not nearly as extensive as his television credits, is still worth acknowledging. His film work includes "Deck the Halls," starring Danny DeVito, Matthew Broderick, and Kristin Davis, the Mark Wahlberg thriller "Shooter," and Nolan Lebovitz's thriller "Tortured," with Cole Hauser and Laurence Fishburne. When not acting, Santiago has often worked as a stunt man. He was a stunt double in the comedy "I Love You, Beth Cooper," for instance, and in the science fiction remake "The Day the Earth Stood Still."
