Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like "Adam and Evelyne" (1949), the drama "Gone to Earth" (1952) with Jennifer Jones and the biopic "Melba" (1953) with Patrice Munsel. Nearing the end of her career, she tackled roles in the adaptation "Sea Wife" (1957) with Richard Burton, "Hell Drivers" (1958) and the horror movie "Horrors of the Black Museum" (1959) with Michael Gough. Varley more recently acted in "Room at the Top" (1959). Varley passed away in July 1964 at the age of 68.
