Holiday Highlights - 12/6, 13, 16, 20, 23, 24 & 25

The month is packed with Christmas treats, beginning with the world premiere on December 6 of the latest entry in our documentary franchise, A Night at the Movies: Merry Christmas! (2011), a tinsel-filled journey through the most iconic holiday films with behind-the scenes stories and personal memories from such luminaries as Chevy Chase, Margaret O'Brien and Chazz Palminteri.

The wide array of holiday offerings ranges through such headings as Christmas Kids, including those in Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) and A Christmas Story (1983); Christmas Comedies, featuring the TCM premiere of The Lemon Drop Kid (1951), with Bob Hope introducing the holiday song "Silver Bells"; and Christmas Shopping, with another TCM premiere, the warmhearted Good Sam (1948) starring Gary Cooper and Ann Sheridan (pictured above).

There's even a night of Christmas Noir, with such dark-hued holiday fare as Murder, My Sweet (1944) and Lady in the Lake (1947). A Smidgeon of Religion, which will air Christmas day, includes the epics Ben-Hur (1959) and The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), while Christmas by Leo McCarey, airing Christmas night, includes some of the most sparkling of that director's gems, such as Love Affair (1939) and Going My Way (1944).
