THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BE ON DVD
- Discerning good taste
- 4/27/13
Dulcy is an overlooked movie. How can anyone know that they love this movie if they aren't able to watch it?? I haven't even seen it on TCM in years. This is a very funny movie to anyone who has a good sense of humor. Ann Sothern is so good as being a scatter-brain who is somehow always wise! The situations in the movie are hysterical. As a classic movie buff, I find it so entirely irritating that these wonderful old movies aren't on DVD to be enjoyed by a new generation as well as the old. These classics will be forgotten and religated to dust, if some intelligent film distributor doesn't take charge and get them ALL on DVD.

OVERLOOKED GREAT COMEDY FILM!

I always wonder WHO decides which films should be put on DVD??? Is this movie consigned to rare showings on TCM only - or not at all? This is such a funny movie, and could be a lesson in comedy to current day and up & coming comedians. Ann Sothern is not only hilarious, but very tender and unselfish towards everyone in this film. This film also has a wonderful cast - Roland Young, Billie Burke, Reginald Gardiner,Hans Conreid, Dan Daily..... it's a very feel-good film! We all need more of those! PLEASE PUT THIS ON DVD!!! Make it available to the public!

FUNNY MOVIE! PLEASE PUT ON DVD!

There aren't many movies of today that are truly humorous. The acting is great in this and Ann Sothern is a wonderful Dulcy. This is a movie that you can just sit down and enjoy, and you feel good afterwards. It really is a shame that so many of these great old movies are kept from the current public, who know nothing of them. I sincerely wish that this would be put on DVD.

VERY FUNNY AND SWEET!

Dulcy, played by Ann Sothern, is a flakey, but good hearted woman who only wants to help people with their problems. She inadvertently makes a mess of things, but they all turn out right in the end. This movie will give you many laughs. She's like Lucille Ball, before that show ever started. A movie that should not be forgotten. Please put on DVD!

hilarious hidden gems

I'm still giggling after hearing a description of the airplane design as, "underslung amphibian" which was also referring to a male character in the movie. The next comment is, "Well, at least he didn't over-estimate himself." Probably only the cast members got the joke at the time! 1940! One other hilarious phrase, referring to Dulcy I believe, was "Twinkle Top." I'm going to use that next time I encounter someone who is not quite all there! Haha! Great movie for fun and silly moments with hidden gems.
