  • one of the most romantic dance numbers ever

    • Anthony Santaniello
    • 6/16/10

The movie, in general, is OK, but the song "This Heart of Mine" is one of my favorites and Astair and Lucille Bremer make the dance number one of the most romantic in the history of film.

  • JUDY GARLAND STEALS THE SHOW!

She's simply magnificent, gorgeous, funny and brilliant!

  • MOVE OVER FRED--GENE'S ON THE FLOOR!!!

Although this picture is full of other wondrful stars, my favorite number is "THE BABBIT AND THE BROMIDE" simply because of GENE KELLY--of course. Even though this was Fred's original number between he and his sister, GENE danced it with flawless perfection. I'm sure that after the routine, Fred realized that he had unbeatable competition to contend with. Fred was graceful with taps, but GENE was not only graceful, but explosive, atheletic, creative and amazing. GENE wasn't well known at the time he danced this number, but his execution of performance is evident as to why he soon became (in his era) and still remains today, the #1 man of tap and dance and continues to win the hearts of many fans everyday!!

  • Three great skits.

The Judy Garland number is absolutely wonderful. Her movements and gestures along with the singing are pitch perfect and I was amazed at how glamorous she indeed looked. The Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly number is funny and truly a showcase of these two geniuses at their best. And finally I was delighted to see that Fanny Brice sketch, which was a great way to see this legendary lady in all her humorous glory.
