Jokes, quips, sound effects kept me laughing throughout! Like when the water cooler loudly bubbles and Rock's boss says "Excuse me." Enjoyed the first run. Then I watched it again. Really funny. Talented cast.Wonderful sets, and costumes by LeMaire. Background music added to the hilarity, as when Rock Hunter finally gets the coveted key to the executive powder room and we hear a chorus of feminine angelic voices.

This film makes fun of advertising. Rock Hunter (Tony Randall) loses his job and to get it back he needs to persuade Rita Marlowe (Jayne Marlowe) to endorse Stayput Lipstick. Rock needs to get his job back to have enough money to look after his neice and to be able to afford to marry his finance. Rita Marlowe has moved to New York to get away from her boyfriend. However, when Rockwell Hunter turns up she is speaking to her boyfriend on the telephone. She wants a man to speak to him on the telephone. Rock agrees to do it in return for the endorsement. However, the boyfriend shoots his mouth off to the press. Therefore, Rita Marlowe likes the free publicity and decides to make out that Rock is the world's greatest lover and calls him lover doll. However, Rock is engaged to be married and she is jealous of Rock's association with Rita who is considered to be a femme fatale. Matters are made worse for Rock because he agrees to go on a tour of America with Rita Marlowe so his finacee dumps him. However, all the publicity makes him a succes at his job. Will Rockwell Hunter choose success or his truelove Jenny Wells? There is also a downside to all the publicity because a mob of young women tear his clothes to shreads. Also Rita Marlowe has fallen for him becasue she likes being kissed by him alougth she is in love with someone else. The movie is very well done and the stars are a delight to watch as are the supporting cast.

Delightful comedy on the advertising business. Tony Randall is terrific, Jayne Mansfield is very memorable, the supporting cast is great. Smartly written and very entertaining throughout.
