1940's Version of Doc Hollywood
- DearPippo
- 1/24/13
This movie is quite similar to the 1991 Michael J. Fox movie, Doc Hollywood. A California doctor gets stuck in a small town with an older doctor. Cute movie, great songs. Try to get your kids to watch it then the MJF movie to prove you know what you're talking about.

Welcome Stranger
- Bill Holzman
- 1/22/13
Crosby is the new doctor in town, and very smart and likable. He has to deal with the old Dr., and reels him in. Bing meets up with the love interest, and of course wins her over. Great songs and "Country style" is very entertaining. I really like this movie with the parring again of Crosby and Fitzgerald. As far as I'm concerned, a can't miss.

Great Van Heusen music
- Bill Noce
- 4/17/10
Welcome Stranger is, of course, dated as a movie, but Crosby's voice and Van Heusen's songs make it worth watching. Van Heusen wrote the music to many of Crosby's movies. Not a great movie, but a piece of nastalgia and a fun story with Barry Fitagerald as a crusty old doctor.
