A well written SiFi produces a very good movie.

Good writing. The story originally was serialized either by Look or Life or another magazine during/about 1955. I wish we could use the weapon today. All of the CGI, props, stunts, etc., are meaningless. The thing remains the story and how people react to and interact with each other. The movie is really worth the time.

I've been looking for this movie for years i did'nt know the name of it untill it was on TCM sept 2. THEN I MISSED IT. I LOVE ALL OF THESE TYPES OF MOVIES. it takes me back to a simpler time. this movie ranks right up there with "War of the Worlds" another GREAT movie, that i've watch a thousand times(at least).

This flick came out @ 4 yrs. after Gene Barry did the great "War of the Worlds". After watching this...you would have wished the aliens 'got 'em' back in 1953! I THOUGHT i had seen them all..but. on 9/02/09 TCM (The GREATEST!) shocks me again with this movie! Truly: a must see! I am in my 60's and have NEVER ever seen this OR heard of this before!!! Enjoy!! Win trivia contests forever!!
