According to a November 1943 Hollywood Reporter news item, producer Walter Colmes considered adding comedian Dave Barry to the cast of this picture, which was Colmes's first independent production for release by Republic. Dave Fleisher draws his animated character "Snippy" in two nightclub sequences in the film. At the end of the picture, Fleisher is signing a check to pay for his bill when "Snippy" comes out of his fountain pen and makes an ink splotch on the check that spreads out to read "The End." The Hollywood Reporter review of the film pointed out that, "although the Trocadero of the picture is located in Hollywood, it has nothing to do with the real Hollywood Trocadero and its history." As noted in the Variety review, bandleader Eddie LeBaron was the actual owner of the famous Hollywood nightclub.
