I give it 5 stars!!! When I was a kid, every time this movie would come on, I'd stop whatever I was doing, and watch it. Usually, on a Sat. I would get a hold of 1 or 2 of my buddies who also liked the movie. We would all sit around and watch it. We would never miss a chance to watch that movie. Usually, you would never catch us kids inside on a Sat. We would either go on a hike in the hills, to the frog pond, fishing, bike riding, or playing ball. Anything but stay inside on a Sat.!! I have been hoping to see this movie,"Tom Sawyer" again on TCM, but haven't yet. Is it still out there??? Is it lost?? Has it been destroyed ??? If not, it needs to be played more often!!! I've been watching TCM for over a year now. I keep it on this channel all the time. I see a lot of movies played 2 and 3 times, and some more than that!!! That movie is a classic!! It probably would be more popular if it was played!! then you could make a little money selling copies. I know I'd buy a bunch of 'em!!!

I remember watching this movie when I was a teenager. Have never been able to see it since and that was over 40 years ago.I did manage to get a VHS copy a few years back. I don't know why it is not available for TCM. Any reasons TCM?There is also "Huckleberry Fin" with the same cast members. Have a copy of that. Jackie Coogan was a very good actor. If anyone can get their hands on it I highly recommend watching it.

One of many "classics". What I mean to say is, whoever may be able to "buy the rights" and release box sets of what was once known as "Family Classics with Frazier Thomas" UNEDITED AS ORIGINALLY AIRED, stands to be very successful. I will never forget Tom and Becky, Aunt Polly, etc., but have yet to be able to preview or purchase. Please help. Thank You!!
