An Unforgettable Train Ride
- Larry W. Mayes

A salesman, Johnny, in the old west is bushwacked and under suspicion of shooting the town marshall as he prepares to escort a train to a town called Tomahawk to fulfill a railroad contract that would benefit the town. Determined to get to Tomahawk from the start, Johnny buys a ticket to Tomahawk only to find that the train is expected to be attacked to keep it from reaching its destination. Unable to travel, the marshall deputizes his granddaughter, Kit, to fulfill the mission. When a young girl needs to know the facts of life, the marshall is at a loss on how to say it and is a cinematic jewel not to be missed. With her chaperone by her side, the naive young Kit has to assure that one paying customer makes the trip or all is lost. Torn between shooting Johnny for the marshall's injuries and just keeping him on the train, she just keeps a close eye on him and a hand on her sixgun. Since not all the train's tracks have arrived, so the train has to be carried across a mountain to where the tracks start again. After many attempts from outside and within the caravan to stop it, the train finally gets within site of Tomahawk. Will they make it and the noon deadline is seconds away? The closeness in the travels cause changes in heart and the ride worth it in this lighthearted western. I love it and I think you will too!
