Wiesbaden. La polizia criminale F in allarme per una serie di delitti misteriosi che hanno come punto in comune l'albergo Luxor. L'opinione pubblica vede negli avvenimenti la mano dello scomparso dottor Mabuse. Il commissario Kras indaga sullo strano omicidio, avvenuto con un ago di acciaio, del telecronista Barter (fatto denunciato dal cieco chiaroveggente Cornelius) e, durante l'inchiesta, scopre che il defunto aveva appena lasciato l'appartamento occupato al Luxor da Marion Menil, che tenta il suicidio lanciandosi dal cornicione dell'albergo, ma viene tratta in salvo dal suo vicino di camera, il miliardario Americano Travers. In seguito il poliziotto invita alcune persone, tra cui Marion, Cornelius e l'assicuratore Mistelweig, a chiamarlo al telefono ad una certa ora; ma il telefono esplode ed uccide un agente. Alla fine, dopo altre efferati omicidi, il commissario riesce a far luce sull'intricata vicenda, che si conclude con la morte del colpevole, il figlio del dr. Mabuse.

The latest in a series of unsolved murders connected with the Luxor Hotel in Berlin leads the authorities to believe that a criminal gang exists headed by someone believing himself to be a reincarnation of the famous Dr. Mabuse. When Henry Travers, an American millionaire, saves Marion Menil from an attempted suicide leap from the ledge of a hotel window, both become involved in the investigation. Commissioner Krauss, meanwhile, has two suspects for the Mabuse imitator: Jordan, supposedly a blind clairvoyant, and Mistelzweig, an insurance salesman. Marion falls in love with Travers and tries to save him from Mabuse's men, even though she had been hypnotized into tricking Travers out of his fortune. Krauss's men invade the hotel and unmask Jordan as the mastermind behind the scheme. A car chase ensues, during which Jordan is killed, and, although Marion is wounded by one of Mabuse's gunmen, she and Travers are rescued by an INTERPOL agent.
