There's Something About a Soldier
- Donald Condrill
- 8/15/11
I graduated this very same OCS on 21 January 1943. The film shows the tactical officers a being helpful, kind of kind. Was not so. When I attended, they tried to break you to make sure that you could endure. If you didn't you were busted out. The rate of being busted out was very high. Three of us in the same squad endured the whole thing while many passed through the squad in the three months I was there. I of my classmates was Jeff Chandler - I didn't know him. We are both in the back row of a group photo of the enter class. I entered AAA OCS from the Infantry, Jeff Chandler from the horse Cavalry. I had just turned 21 when I graduated and became a 2nd Lt. I am now 89 years and a retired US Army Colonel. Just seeing the back ground was worth the price of admission. Thanks for listening. Don Condrill dcondrill@cox.net 703 403 8910
