Nice Bit of Film History
- John Quimby

Always liked this film when it was regularly shown on TV. Note that the production began in December 1941, just weeks after Pearl Harbor. Clearly this film is an important early example of what would become a flood of wartime Hollywood productions. In that context alone it should be seen and appreciated not only as the pleasing period drama that it is but as an historical document of America's response to WWII.

I understand their was an estate dispute since George Montgomery passed away. This movie has all the material a great movie needs and yet it can not be purchased, rented or seen anywhere. I see other movies of George Montgomery available, why not this one?

This is one of those movies I remember always watching in the afternoon in New York in the late 50's and early 60's when I came home from school. It is a very entertaining movie with a fine cast and story. The part where they surround the indians and make them think its a whole army surrounding them is one exciting highlight. George Montgomery always a very underated actor is fine in this, as is John Sutton.(Yank In The R.A.F., Captain from Castile) Another fine movie by Henry Hathaway, it should be shown on TCM and released on DVD

I've been waiting for years to see this movie on TCM. Your system would not even allow me to vote for this movie to be put on DVD. This is a fantastic movie with a cast that make the characters real. This the type of movie I look for on TCM but am finding less and less in the schedule.
