Young Jenny heads to the South of England to start a new career as a school teacher. Even before she has had a chance to settle in she meets Patrick, one of the local "lads". Within a short time she has her hands full when a number of the local boys take a liking to her. But who will be the lucky one who wins her affections?
Jenny Bunn, a conservative schoolteacher, arrives in a London suburb to begin a new teaching job. She finds a room in a boardinghouse and becomes friendly with Anna, another lodger, who introduces Jenny to her boyfriend, Patrick Standish, a callous playboy. He shows an immediate interest in Jenny and asks her for a date; she agrees to have dinner with him, but his plans also include seducing her. Jenny, however, is a virgin and resists his advances. Patrick finds her innocence charming and continues to see her, although he complains to his wealthy friend Julian of his lack of amatory success with her. When Patrick takes Jenny to a party given by Julian, she becomes convinced of his sincerity and finally agrees to have sex with him. They arrange a rendezvous for the following Saturday. Several days after the party, Jenny runs into Julian, who indicates that Patrick has confided everything to him. On Saturday night, instead of meeting Patrick, Jenny has sex with Julian. Patrick, upset because Jenny failed to show up for their rendezvous, goes to Julian's house and finds the two in bed together. Shocked by Jenny's behavior, Patrick demands an explanation, and Jenny tells him that she tired of his pretenses and wanted him to pursue her with more determination.
