An early movie project by Penelope Spheeris set amidst a backdrop of punk rock clubs, music, and abandoned homes populated with wild dogs and a group of runaway teenagers. The teenagers, like the dogs, have banded together for their own survival. Having felt the same abandment of home and love, they call themselves T.R., or The Rejected, and live apart from the society which they feel has rejected them. Unfortunately, the outcasts, like the dogs, are persecuted by some gun-toting members of a local citizens group, who decide to take the law into their own hands when they don't get the results they want from local law enforcement officers. A sad story with a tragic ending, but a vivid portrait of California's punk rock scene and the emotions behind it.
