Wonderfully warm movie about what a wholesome, dedicated physician was able to do for his patients during WWII. It leaves you feeling good about this courageous, factual story.

  • A true war story from World War II

Gary Cooper stars as Dr. Coryadon M. Wassell who winds up in the US Navy and is assigned to a hospital in Java, with many injured sailors from the USS Marblehead, that was sunk by Japanese. This is an unbelievable but true story. There really was a Dr. Wassell. Just as in Sergeant York, Gary Cooper portrays another war hero. Well worth seeing if you can find a place to watch it. Currently not availble on DVD or Vhs.
