" I Cant Get Started with You"

In the final reel, Harry Stoner( Lemmon), winds up and throws a baseball way over the kids heads..to their dismay. The Kid says : Gee why did you do that"? Stoner: I just wanted to show it to you. ! A Fitting piece to a wonderful yet downbeat story of people in their own world of the garment district. A Fine paradoxical teaming of Jack Gilford and Lemmon really propels the story of wether to " Torch" the dying business or not. The biting dialogue between Thayer David ( Charlie Robbins Pro arsonist) and Stoner in the balcony of an LA theater is not to be missed. as the theme of the film itself collides with a despair and personal malaise. Lemmon won his second Oscar here for quite a different character from Ensign Pulver. Vastly underrated film CP
