A collection of arch thoughts and opinions masquerading as information. TCM is the go to place for movie buffs. You guys have to do better. These pieces need to be rich with detail. Wendy Hayward is alive. Arianne Ulmer. Joe Sirola. Me. Others...plus plenty of serious stuff is out there.

I only discovered Louis Hayward about a year ago. First with "The man in the iron mask", then with "My son, my son". However, when I saw him in "The Saint in New York", I really fell in love with him. I must have watched my tape of the film a hundred times, and I never get tired of it. His demeanor, his looks, his coolness, his beautiful voice, and his well spoken English are fascinating. What is so amusing is the way the "bad guys" Louis Hayward "the Saint" is after, always praise him for these attributes. One of the "trigger men", Hyme makes favorable comments about him throughout the film; Hutch tells him he is young and good looking; Maury tells him he is a "pretty boy", and Faye, the only girl in the film, falls in love with him. The Saint himself has some very amusing lines. In other words, there is a lot of humor in the film, which helps to balance out the scenes of violence. I think that "The Saint in New York is the best Saint movie of them all.
