  • VAUDEVILLE REEL #3 (1935)

    • Dave Hodge
    • 11/8/12

According to the Vitaphone Project http://www.picking.com/vitaphone103.html this reel is known as VAUDEVILLE REEL #3, and made in 2-16-1935.Vaudeville at its finest. The reel features three vaudeville acts:I. A pair of gymnasts (might be sisters) who are fantastic.II. Chaz Chase "One in a Million", who basically EATS everything, including his cigar, cigarette, matchbook, most of his shirt and collar, the flower in his lapel.III. A pair of sisters (missed the name), playing a duet on two pianos, back to back (they trade positions throughout the grand finale without missing a beat), and IV. The highlight of the show...the outstanding Al Trahan, who is pure slapstick. Plays accompaniment for a female singer who "Sings like a bird....a VULTURE". He appears to lose his mind near the end of the act, really great stuff.
