This is one of my all time favorite movies. It really does help if you love the Rat Pack and Bing Crosby, which I always have, but I first saw it before I knew them, when I was young. The amount of fun it looks like these guys are having and the energy they put out is infectious. I always like the music of Jimmy VanHeusen and the tap dance scene with Sammy Davis Jr still blows me away!

Gordon Douglas put together a dynamic cast in a splendid vehicle and Frank Sinatra performs his songs in one of his best turns similar to his song in "A Hole in the Head" in 1959 by the great talent Frank Capra.

Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack literally go out with a bang in an amusing musical the has elements of the ancient Robin Hood legend mixed in with a satire of early 1930's gangster films with a Chicago setting to boot. Robbo (Sinatra) is both amazed and amused to learn that he is something of a hero by inadvertently doing charity work despite accusations from rival Peter Falk to the contrary.
