A pre-medical student seems to fear nothing. He calmly watches his first dissection in anatomy class and later kills a rattlesnake threatening his girl friend at their lovers' lane rendezvous. However, at a mortuary where a friend recently killed in an automobile accident lies in his coffin, the student panics briefly when a gust of wind blows out a candle. The student admits that when his grandfather died some years before, he spent the night in terror waiting for the corpse to climb the stairs to his bedroom. During a fraternity initiation, the student's fearlessness earns him the most difficult stunt; he has to go to a tomb in a nearby cemetery and remove a finger ring from a corpse. In the crypt, the student forces himself to open the coffin and remove the ring, but later he dies of shock.
