  • Jungle Jim Meets the Munchkins(1950)

    Jungle Jim(Johnny Weissmueller) fighs a crocodile, gorilla, and the Bad Guys in the jungles of Africa as the war effort tries to secure the properties of the ngoma plant with the help of Capt. Kingsley( Ann Savage) a woman. Except she gets lost, and then aided by the pygmy tribe Temba(Billy Barty) and Makuba( Billy Curtis). Positives are that it is fast paced and really goes nowhere. Weissmueller as always gives it his best. 3 stars out of 5.

    Check out my blog for my review of Pygmy Island, possibly the wildest entry in the Jungle Jim series. Not only does one of the movies' true blue Jungle Heroes meet the deadliest femme fatale in cinema history, but there are vine-swinging midgets and a guy in a gorilla suit. http://johnmwhalen.wordpress.com/2012/08/06/pygmy-island/

    All the Jungle Jim movies were great Sunday entertainment. Please release to DVD soon.
