After husband number four, the police appeared on the scene in the shape of Inspector Keemat Lal. After husband number four departed, Susanna did begin to feel rather melancholy, almost physically ill at times, due to the increasing number of dead life partners. Fortunately, Dr Modhusudhon Tarafdar proved to be a real life-saver for Susanna, but he was not to be the last in her long list of spouses. She is currently on husband number seven.
