John Boles typecast as another Cad.

Unfortunately, I've not seen this film. It's very interesting to me to hear of illicit sex and ultimate pregnancy in films like this made so long ago. In "Back Street" John Boles plays a prominent married man in society that carries on a life long affair with his mistress Irene Dunn. In this film, he is yet another character that doesn't remember his original liaison with Margaret Sullivan fathering a son. John Boles was also one of the main characters in the original "Stella Dallas" as the remarried husband of Stella Dallas who had a child with him when they were married briefly. Social class difference was the bane of their existence. He is a very kind man overall but only a cad to the lady of his affections. He comes across the screen as a pretty decent guy overall even with his dalliances. I also recall him in a Shirley Temple movie being her benefactor while she was a orphaned child. "You go Hollywood" John Boles can be cast as good or polar opposite a cad. I wish I could buy this on DVD. I'm really curious.
