I will watch this movie wherever I can find it even on my kindle! It is a great story of an English bomber during the first days of WWII. They are shot down over enemy territory and two of the crew go missing from the others...after many adventures trying to get away from the enemy and being picked up by the resistance they finally come to a town where they meet their two missing comrades playing in plain sight of the Nazis in a soccer game! After being approved by the local resistance they head to freedom with a nail biting gataway on a river, thinking they are finally safe....well you have to watch the movie to see what happens! It is a great addition to your video library if you are a WWII fan! Enjoy your time with these brilliant actors that you will recognize from other movies and get out the popcorn, no wine but a nice stout or whiskey and fish and chips will suit this movie!

  • Anything by Powell/PRessburger is worth seeing.

We need a cleaned up copy of this film. Video copy I had was a mess. I don't remember many details but I like most of the things Powell and Pressburger have done and I like almost anything about the Netherlands. I.e., no truly high level reasons for wanting to see a nice copy of this film.
