Trooper "Mac" MacKenzie of the North West Mounted Police is called on to go undercover and investigate the appearance of counterfeit American money in the area. Mac travels toward the counterfeiting gang's hideout in the Northern Frontier. With the help of his friend Mae, who works at a saloon, Mac arrests Duke Milford, a trader who has just arrived in town and is associated with Bull Stone, who is the counterfeiters' leader. After Mac says goodbye to his girl friend, Beth Braden, he heads out on his journey. Posing as a furrier, Mac is quickly assimilated into the Stone gang. Slink Garu, a half-Indian who works for Stone, is a go-between for Beth and her father, Mr. Braden, an engraver who is being blackmailed by Stone. After two of his men disappear, Stone suspects he has a traitor in his gang. Stone's men lead him to believe that Beth and her father are responsible for the disappearance of the men, and Stone sends Garu to "take care" of her, while he plans to deal with Mr. Braden. Mac finds out what Stone is up to and makes plans to stop him before he gets to Beth. On Stone's trail, Mac runs into another outlaw, Sam Keene, who is actually from the U.S. Secret Service. Meanwhile, Pete, another of Stone's henchmen, kidnaps Beth and brings her to Stone. Stone locks Beth up with her father, and he and Pete go after Mac. Keene reveals himself to Mac, and together they arrest Stone and his men, and then release Beth and Mr. Braden. Afterward, the Inspector marries Beth and Mac.
