An engaging drama based on actual events. Field deservingly won the Best Actress Oscar as the spunky and fierce heroine organizing a union at her textile mill. The film's second Oscar was awarded to the song "It goes Like it goes," the story itself is well-paced and moves fast. A great film with a pro-union message. I give it a 4.5/5.

when i first saw it inthe movies in 1979 and i still love it today. Sally's academy award was totally meritted and the rest of the cast shines. The thing i find most interesting about this movie is that thought it does not feel dated in the subject matter or tone one cannot help but notice that the things that she fought for - better standing for her children when they entered the mill- have fanished in the wind.
