Very good George Raft noir. He's perfect as tough cop hot on the trail.Nice touch his homelife. So he lives at home, not everyone wants to live a bachelor apartment-life.
Sure wish they'd put this movie on DVD. It's one of my favorites. I have the VHS, but who watches VHS anymore!! PLEASE TMC... release this movie on DVD!!
Raft As Himself,Hard-boiled
Can believe Georgie was difficult, but this is one flick made for him.Discovering him more,The Bowery w/Beery,They Drive By Night w/Bogie,Manpower w/Ed G Robinson. He was more than just a lucky dancer.Tough boy from Hell's Kitchen, friend of known mob guys, high living, not listening to anyone.Functional illiterate,I think not.Lucky, impetuous, yes, but no way anyone could put things over on him.Just made poor decisions in passing on co-stars,like Bogie,or classic films which would make him even better remembered. And a guy who didn't take marriage seriously,or respect the vows in order to have a good time.
Ron. The columns are not too wide, your eyes are just too narrow.

You columns are way too wide, very hard to follow narrower columns please. TY
Wonderful film noir
Nocturne has a well written script starring George Raft as a tough city detective looking for the killer of an artist who has been declared a suicide. Raft knows, however, that it was murder. There is plenty of suspense and light moments between Raft and his mother.Suspects abound in this film noir mystery and romance with Diana Barry with whom he falls for and then later suspects.Loads of fun.
